Maui- Whalers Village

Walking to Whalers Village

One of the best parts about staying at the Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa (Oceanfront) at Ka’anapali Beach was the walks along the beach. There’s something about the breeze coming off of the ocean that makes you eternally grateful for the experience. Whether you are walking just for the experience, or walking with a destination in mind, the strolls on the path adjacent to the beach were always special and invigorating. Our resort along the shore was surrounded by a few other resorts. One night we decided to take the 20 minute walk north to the Whalers Village Beachside Boutiques and Eateries. On our walk we past the Hyatt Residence Club, Marriott's Maui Ocean Club, Ka’anapali Alii Resort Club, and the Westin Maui Resort and Spa. At each resort there were folks gathering along the beach and making the best of their stay. It was refreshing to view these spots along the walk and the many people enjoying their vacation in their own ways. Some gathered for yard games while others posted up on lounge chairs for a more intimate experience. As we got closer to the Whalers Village, we were exposed to a different form of night life. It seemed that the Whalers Village was a hot spot for all of the resort visitors. As we explored the Whalers Village we realized we were a part of something bigger at Ka’anapali Beach. Sure, life at our resort was gratifying by itself, but it was enlivining to know that the Kenwood Mall (Cincinnati, OH reference) of Ka’anapali was just a shot away. The 80+ stores and restaurants held many opportunities. Anything from shopping, hair wraps, and fine jewelry was within reach if you had the money and the time. Jenny’s advice: Spend the time. Spend the money. Get the hair wrap.
