Maui Brewing Company

When we arrived in Maui, the first drink we ordered at our resort was a Maui Brewing Company beer. I chose the Big Swell IPA and Jen ordered the Bikini Blonde. The beers did not disappoint. They have a familiar taste mixed with an exotic hint that we romantically attribute to a Hawaiin flare.

We were told by someone on staff at our resort that there was a Maui Brewing Company location nearby. We made a mental note to try and get there for dinner during our four-day stay in Maui. A dinner reservation would have been a great idea, but we failed to make one. When we arrived at the Maui Brewing Company Lahaina location at Kahana Gateway Center it was jam-packed. There was no room to get a beer and take advantage of happy hour at the bar inside which was kind of a disappointment, but we put our name in and had about an hour wait.

We visited the Whalers General Store in the strip. Why not, right? We checked out the souvenirs until our table was ready. The atmosphere at Maui Brewing Company was great. It was your typical microbrewery setup - a somewhat industrial atmosphere with tall, exposed ceilings. There were various chalkboards posted throughout to let us know the beer selections. Jen and I stuck to our guns: I chose the Big Swell IPA and Jen went with the Bikini Blonde, each on draft. We split a salad and pizza for our meal. Definitely a spot we would revisit when vacationing in Hawaii again.
