Magic Kingdom

Truly the most magical place on earth!!

This is why you go to Disney World!!

The Pate family knew this was going to be a long day, but totally worth it. The rides, the snacks, the characters, all make for an incredible day. To maximize time, the Genie + is completely recommended here, especially during the month we were there (March) and with 4 children. Another recommendation: get there early!! If you are a Disney resort guest, you can enter the park 30 minutes early, and get through security even earlier than that, so really try to get to the park 45 minutes early to maximize park time with low lines. We packed a lot of water (you can bring water and food in!) and our refillable Simba popcorn bucket.

Here is how our day went:

6:45 am wake up, and walk over to Magic Kingdom. *Walking over = such a great benefit at staying at Disney’s Contemporary! It was a little rainy that morning but we were able to walk over to a practically empty park!

7 am: Lightening Lane (LL) selections! We scored an early Peter Pan’s Flight as well as the separate LL for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The Mine Train had a standby time hovering around 2-2.5 hours all day so we felt it necessary to purchase the LL.

The park opened at 8 am, so we arrived by 7:15 am and got through security pretty quickly.

By 7:30 we were IN!

7:40: Rick, Leo, Siena and Harry wait standby line for Space Mountain (10 minute wait), Rider swap for Jen and another guest for later.

7:45: Jen and Esme Astro Orbiters, no wait!

8:00 am: Coffee and donuts at Joffrey’s coffee in Tomorrowland

8:15 am: SURPRISE visit to Bippity Boppity Boutique for Siena and Esme! They LOVED the royal treatment! Not only did they look like absolute princesses with their hair and makeup, they got little backpacks and got to keep all of the makeup and nail polish!

8:30 am: ANOTHER SURPRISE visit to Bippity Boppity Boutique for the boys. They were nervous at first but ended up with some pretty dashing hairdos and sweet swords and shields!

9:25 Peter Pan’s Flight- LL

9:40 It’s a Small World: 40 minute standby posted but on in 10 minutes

10:00 am: Enchanted Tales with Belle: Standy line 10 minutes. We are so happy this is back! Such a fun thing to do for the entire family. Our Siena had the lead role as BEAST, Dad was a knight, Leo the footrest dog, Harry was a mirror and Esme a salt shaker.

10:45 am: Dumbo: Standby line 35 minutes. This attraction is great as there is an indoor playground while you wait in line. HOWEVER, it rained while we were inside at the play area (THANKFUL to be inside during the storm), but the ride ended up shutting down for a bit so we had to wait over 45 minutes.

12:00 pm: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train- LL

12:30 pm; Lunch and Plaza Restaurant. We had a reservation and it was nice to have time to sit down and eat a leisurely lunch. Mom and dad split a salad and chicken sandwich. Kids had chicken fingers and burgers, but were still able to have dessert with their meal, Mickeylodeon, a Disney staple.

We were also able to get in a few more pictures in front of the castle. Kids loved taking excessive pictures. Can’t forget Disney Dad.

1:30 pm: Jen and Harry rode Space Mountain  (Rider Swap LL)

1:45 pm: Tomorrowland Speedway- 30 minute wait posted

2:30 pm: Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin- LL

3:00 pm: Barnstormer: 30 min wait

3:45 pm: Mad Tea Party- Rick, Leo, Harry and Esme: 10 minute wait

4:15 pm: Hall of Presidents. More than 1 member of the Pate family fell asleep. Victim of sleep #1:

4:30: Funnel Cake from Sleepy Hollow; A snack MUST! We were also able to catch some of the Festival of Fantasy Parade!

4:45: Haunted Mansion- LL

5:15 pm: Aladdin carpets- Rick, Harry and Esme; 30 minute wait standby

5:30 pm: Tiki Room- Jen, Leo and Siena

Pirates was closed all day but Leo still wanted to show full support.

5:45 pm: Jungle Cruise- LL

6:00 pm: Dinner, pizza from Pinocchio Village Haus and popcorn

6:30 pm: Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid

7:15: Magic Kingdom Fireworks Dessert Party: Pre Party at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant. *Can’t recommend this enough! We had PLENTY of snacks here, all the dessert you can dream of AND  alcoholic and non-alcoholic choices. The best part: A guaranteed area to view the fireworks. Worth the hype.

8:30 pm: Enchantment Fireworks. Just ABSOLUTELY beautiful!

9:00 pm: Rick, Harry and Esme head home. Esme can’t walk another step.

9:30 pm: Big Thunder Mountain Railroad- Jen, Leo and Siena, 40 minute wait

10:00 pm: PARK closes.

WHAT. A. DAY.

I think Esme says it best…
